Keeping a Prayer Journal:
- Why Keep a Journal
- To Strengthen your faith and improve your relationship with the Lord.
- Through a Journal you can monitor your own progress in your relationship with God.
- It can help you discern God's hand in your life, and better understand His will for You.
- How Do I Start a Journal
- A Journal can be nothing more than a bound notebook, or it could be preprinted with dates, devotionals, or scripture. Whatever it is, it should be constructed to endure daily use.
- What Do I Put In the Journal
- The journal is a place to write private thoughts to yourself, you are both the author and the intended audience.
- As you read the Bible, copy a verse or verses that stand out to you.
- Write a short statement about what this means to you, at this time.
- Write a short statement of how this truth could be applied to your life, and what change you need to make.
- In the Evening, or the next day, reflect on the preceding day, note how God was evident the day.
- Make a note about how successful, or what problems you had applying the scripture to your life.
